Hotels: Expensive and Overpriced

Staying in a hotel should be an easy, comfortable experience for everyone, but too often, it feels like paying a high price for something that provided me with less control over basic things. Take the thermostat, for example. Most hotels I have been to, there is always an issue with how hot or cold the room is and how I am unable to control it, and if I am lucky, I am able to call them and ask them to change it one or two points. They should instead lock in a range on the thermostat, let's say between 68 and 72 or a little higher. Even turning it off as soon as the guest leaves the room can make it so the hotel also saves money. Another example of how overpriced hotels are, even after you pay a hefty sum for however long you are staying, is their minibar. How is the pricing on some of these minibar products even fair? $6 or more for water, small-sized snacks, and even chocolate? Absurd. Also, more and more hotels are implementing sensors in their fridges to know exactly when a prod...

Predictions for Around the World in 80 Games in 2025

The whole basis of this blog is to act as a lifestyle blog that shares my personal experiences and stories, showcasing both the worlds of gaming and traveling—even how they collide to create something new. Since this blog just recently started in early 2025, we still have the whole year full of potential. 1. More firsthand stories. My first prediction is that I might transition this blog into a more journal-based one. I could go deeper into the stories I share, maybe more personal ones too. Treating this like a literal journal doesn’t have to mean making it informal, but maybe this can provide readers with a more personal feel—a way they can truly imagine my experiences. 2. Video content. Blog posts filled with pictures and text are great, but we can take it to the next level by introducing video blogs—vlogs, you could say. Instead of just showing pictures and describing what I see or experience, you could join me in video form and see it for yourself. 3. Meeting more gamers. I could c...

Interview with Pro Player Admiral

Image
I had the privilege of sitting down with Admiral , a varsity esports player with a background in professional gaming. From competing at the highest level in professional Overwatch—where he famously helped eliminate an all-star Korean team — to now balancing varsity esports and academics, Admiral has experienced the best of both worlds. In this interview, we discuss Admiral's beginnings, his fondest memories, and his transition from starting as an amateur to now, where he is a varsity player. Q1: When did you start playing video games, and which game did you start playing? I started playing video games when I was around 6 or 7 years old. The earliest game that I can remember playing was Call of Duty: World at War. Q2 Was your name always Admiral when you started playing games? What is the story behind your name or previous names? No, my name used to be “Private Raptor.”. It was military-themed since I was part of a Call of Duty clan. I changed the name to AdmiralRaptr in 2016...

Not All Tourists Are the Same: A Rant on Travelers Who Give Us a Bad Name

Some of us like to travel; you could even say some of us love to travel. But there are also some of us who give a bad reputation to travelers; the bunch who ignore local laws, act like they own the place, leave trash everywhere they go, feel like the locals have to do everything they ask for, and expect to speak their language, and I can go on and on and on. These travelers get me so worked up because not only is their behavior unacceptable, especially as guests of a country, but they also give travelers as a whole a bad reputation. As someone who has personally valued responsible travel, it is quite infuriating to be mixed up in that group. I take time to understand the cultures, learn a few phrases, and always leave places as I found them. But since there are these entitled tourists who think just because they paid for their vacation, it means they can act how they want, some locals categorize us in the same group. I still want to do what I can to promote a good perception of tourist...

Story of Faker, the Face of Esports

Image
In each industry or area of expertise, there is a face for that. For eSports, the biggest face we have is Korean League of Legends Esports star Faker.  Lee Sang-hyeok, more commonly known by his in-game name, Faker, is a 28-year-old South Korean who is deemed the greatest League of Legends player ever. But how did this title come to play? It came mostly from his one-of-a-kind rookie season. A rookie season is a player's first year as a professional player, and with Faker, his first season was as good as it gets. When he was 17, he dropped out of school to join a Korean esports organization called " SK Telecom T1 ," who are now known as "T1." This was a bold move by Faker, but one that was considered the start of a legacy. During his first professional year, they qualified for "Worlds," an annual global tournament hosted by League of Legends, which is best described by this video . Not only did they qualify, but they won the whole tournament. Faker co...

Top 5 Travel Locations I have been to

Image
There are several fascinating travel locations that the world provides to us; choosing one that you like might be a challenge more often than not. Personally, I have had the opportunity and privilege to travel to many destinations around the world, ranging from the Americas to East Asia, and I am using this post to use my experiences to maybe help fellow travelers pick their next hotspot! Here are the top 5 travel locations that I have been to. 5. Guangzhou, China The first Asian location in this list, but definitely not one that should be overlooked. This city has a mix of a futuristic setting while simultaneously having its own "Pearl River" flow through its city. Beautiful areas to walk around in, covered in green scenery and a lot of malls and activities around this area. There is a surplus of food spots here ranging from high-end award-winning restaurants to local mouth-savoring food stops that will definitely be value for your buck. 4. Florence, Italy Local farms and v...

Review of Logitech's New Gaming Mouse: Pro X Superlight 2

Image
I am one of the lucky few people who are a part of the Logitech Pro program, where several people who are considered professionals get into a program where they are able to order and try out new gear that Logitech releases. Well, I got my hands on the new mouse they offered, the Pro X Superlight 2. Now, even before I was a part of this program, I was and still am a Logitech loyalist. All of their products are consistent and reliable and take me to the next level, and the fact that I am able to be a part of their program is surreal. Anyways, enough of the background behind my relationship with Logitech and the gear itself; let's start with the mouse's review. Pros: ✅ Zero lag wireless connection– No lag, no input delay, and no wire in the way; this is perfect for non-interruptible gameplay. ✅  Long battery life– Over 90 hours on a single charge. Also, a full charge would only take a couple of hours. ✅ Very light – At less than 63 grams, this mouse makes it effortless to ...
