For Aspiring Gamers

This post is for the aspiring gamers that might feel like they have hit a wall or just have the feeling of giving up. You are not just "playing games." You are using games to build your discipline, focus, and using your passion to accomplish something.

I have been in those similar situations where I feel like I have wasted my time. Staying up late, frustrating losses, and even doubt. With grinding comes hardship, and moments like this where it seems like no one gets it, or it feels impossible. But what you are doing is real, the passion you have is real, and hopefully the determination you have is real.

Gaming for me has not only taught me about myself, but it has taught me how to lose with grace, how to pick myself up after losing and focus on bettering myself, and also to show up with purpose. Gaming has taken me around the world, literally. Because when you overcome those doubtful thoughts, gaming can open up doors for you—scholarships, potential opportunities for content creating or competitions, and even making friends or growing a community. But more importantly, it can help you grow.

My advice is that you do not think about being the best; think about becoming your best version. Also, do not compare yourselves to others, as I strongly believe that comparison is the thief of joy. Stay curious, learn from every loss you have, watch how other people play, but do not copy from them—instead, learn. Invest resources into yourself along with your mechanics. Build your own style. Be the best version of yourself.

You are not only leveling up in the games; you are leveling up yourself.

Keep your head up and keep grinding—the world is waiting for you.
